Cubby is built to be private by design: there is no Cubby server, no account, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Your baby's log is written to your own device and stays there unless you decide to move it. We, the developer, never receive it — and there is nowhere for us to receive it, because we do not run a server.
This page also states plainly the few places where Cubby does talk to another device or to Apple. A privacy policy that leaves a data flow out is not a privacy policy, so the list below is meant to be complete.
Nothing. Cubby has no account system, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no tracking. Everything you log — your babies, feeds, sleep, diapers, pumping, growth measurements, medicines and vaccines, temperatures, milestones and their photos, and your notes — is stored in the app's own storage on your device. None of it is transmitted to us, and none of it is sold, rented or shared with anyone for advertising or any other purpose.
Cubby is private, but it is not literally offline in every respect, and we will not claim that it is. These are all of the ways anything can leave your phone:
That is the whole list. Cubby contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDK, and no code that contacts any server of ours — because we do not have one. The app's own screens are locked down so they cannot load or contact anything outside the app.
Nap and feed reminders are local notifications your phone schedules for itself. The home-screen and Lock Screen widgets and the Live Activity read a small summary that never leaves the device. The nap and feed predictions are arithmetic over the entries you logged, computed on your phone. The CSV export, the backup file and the PDF doctor report are all generated on your device — where they go afterwards is entirely your choice, through the standard iOS share sheet.
Your log is kept on your device for as long as you keep it, and no longer: you can delete any single entry, or an entire baby's history, directly in the app, and deleting Cubby removes the log from your device. You can export everything to a CSV file, to a PDF report for the pediatrician, or to a full backup file at any time. Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for you to request from us, nothing for us to retain and nothing for us to delete — but if you want that confirmed in writing, email us at the address below and we will confirm it. If you ever turn on caregiver sharing, you can stop it and remove the shared copy from your iCloud at any time in iOS Settings, and revoking a caregiver's access removes their ability to read it.
Cubby bundles no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDK, and we do not share user data with anyone — we do not have it to share. The only third parties involved in anything described above are Apple (as the operator of the App Store for purchases, of the connection between your own iPhone and your own Apple Watch, and of iCloud for backups and for optional caregiver sharing) and GitHub (which hosts these two legal pages). Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Cubby Plus is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and an optional tip is also available. Both are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the transaction; Cubby never sees your payment details. Whether you own Plus is stored on your device and can be restored through your Apple Account.
Cubby is a tool for parents and caregivers, and it is you — the adult — who enters your child's details. Cubby does not collect data from anyone, adult or child; your child's record is not transmitted to us and is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking of any kind. We do not knowingly gather information from a child directly.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
The previous version of this page made two absolute claims: that the app made no requests over a network at all, and that it never transmitted your data anywhere. Those were written to describe the app honestly, but they were too absolute to be accurate: buying or restoring Cubby Plus goes through Apple, a paired Apple Watch receives a summary of the log, and the app carries an opt-in iCloud caregiver-sharing feature. We have replaced both absolutes with the complete list above. What has not changed, and is the actual promise: there is no Cubby server, no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and your baby's log is not sent to us.
